The new livery design builds on JetBlue’s heritage and unique personality with energized favorite elements for a new era, such as:Ī blue allover fuselage that goes all-in on the company’s namesake color. “The new livery helps us stand out among a sky of legacy carriers, and is a stunning reflection of our role as a disruptor that uniquely combines lower fares and great service.” When you spot a JetBlue aircraft-whether on the ground or in the air-we want customers to recognize us as a travel brand that moves them differently than everyone else,” said Jayne O’Brien, head of marketing and loyalty, JetBlue. “Liveries have always been a part of our identity. JetBlue plans to refresh all of its current standard liveries as part of its normal aircraft painting cycle. The first aircraft to receive the new livery paint is an Airbus A321 with Mint ®, aptly named “A Defining MoMint,” which goes into service on June 15. The new “icon in the sky” gives JetBlue a standout visual design as it expands to new markets and brings customer-centric offerings across the travel industry. From colorful tailfin patterns to special liveries, JetBlue has always used custom designs to honor the people, places and partnerships that make up its DNA. I do want to try the mint service in the future and this flight only makes me want to do that even sooner.JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announced its new standard livery featuring a bold and all-blue design emblematic of its role as an innovative, industry-disrupting brand that customers love and trust for travel. On the FLL-LAX we did receive the second beverage service which was perfect to refresh a bit before landing.īoth flights landed a bit early and arrived to the gate early as well! The Verdict:įlying on the jetBlue A321 was an absolute joy! The good legroom to the great service, free WiFi and plenty of movies + tv! I’ll be sure to try to add jetBlue to more of my travels. Very nice!Ībout 45 minutes before landing on my LAX-FLL flight, we were notified that we wouldn’t be receiving a second beverage service due to anticipated turbulence before landing. Starting June 2019 they won’t be handing out individual water bottles anymore and also they will be switching from Coke to Pepsi products.Īt this time, I decided to use the lavatories and noticed that they were very clean! At the back of the galley they also left a snack basket and bottles of water. Whole cans of soda were given, man I love jetBlue!Īpproximately 2 hours before landing they brought out Dasani water bottles on both flights. In- Flight Service:Īn hour in, a beverage and snack service was provided on both flights. After entering New Mexico was finally when WiFi was faster. On the FLL-LAX flight, the WiFi was unfortunately a bit worse! Service cut in and out many times, and it was very slow over Texas. The WiFi was decent for browsing on LAX-FLL, with a small service interruption when flying over the Gulf of Mexico. There’s free gate to gate WiFi! I’m actually writing this review as I’m on this plane. I watched Aquaman, Fantastic Beasts, The Upside and some Family Feud. The seat-back IFE was a tiny bit blurry, but still a much appreciated upgrade from the old jetBlue planes! The IFE was 10.1 inches, and had a large selection of movies, and over 100 channels of live DIRECTV. On my LAX-FLL flight, my seat was really clean which was a pleasant surprise! Good job cleaning crew! The FLL-LAX plane was clean, but not as spotless. The area is not renovated, and the seating is kind of cramped so I hope jetBlue invests more in FLL.īoarding commenced on time, and the captain said our flight would be 5 hours and 18 minutes once in the air! Boarding at FLL:Īfter visiting Kafe Kalik, a Priority Pass Lounge, I headed to my gate in the E section. The captain said our flight would take 4 hours and 24 minutes once in the air and the boarding door closed 20 minutes before our scheduled departure time. Apparently they did an early boarding and so all group zones were boarded already! Lol! Thankfully I still found overhead carry on space. I arrived at the gate at 2:25pm, 3 minutes after boarding was supposed to start. Walking from Bradley to Terminal 5 took a little less than 15 minutes at a casual pace. Los Angeles (LAX) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) andįort Lauderdale (FLL) to Los Angeles (LAX)Īircraft: Airbus A321 Mint Boarding at LAX:Īfter a nice visit to the Korean Airlines Lounge at Tom Bradley, I took the nice bridge from Bradley to Terminal 4, than the underground tunnel from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5. JetBlue Airways Flight 2800 and Flight 101 Plus, they were cheaper than the nonstops on American to Miami, so it really was a no brainer! The Flights: I booked jetBlue to/from Fort Lauderdale because I wanted to try their A321 Mint configuration plane featuring the newer seats and 10 inch IFE in economy.

OTOH some tasks might actually feel better on the iPad than the desktop version. Just that it will become cumbersome when working with large projects. It’s still going to feel like you’re using Garageband which isn’t a bad thing. However because of the adaptation to the touch environment it’s not going to be like using Mac Logic on the iPad. So it will have a lot more than Garageband does. More arpeggiator/sequencer options like Logic has. More stock audio processing plugins (looks like it will have everything Logic has.) Proper routing, midi/audio hardware settings, track groups, buses, sidechain etc. It basically looks like it will be Garageband but with: I’ve come to a different conclusion after closely studying screenshots so I’d love to compare notes. But with the aforementioned free trial, it'd be a shame to not give it the old college said:įor the folks that say it’s just a beefed up version of GarageBand - it would be great if you could point to some specifics that made you come to that conclusion. If the iPad version of Logic is basically a pimped out version of Garageband, then I don't know if I'd like that. I love how quickly I can operate between NS2, Gadget, FLSM, Cubasis 3, and so on and so forth. Like navigating in a virtual studio where one thing does this and another thing does that. Call me "stuck in my ways", but I kind of like hopping between apps. I'd rather create music in the meantime with what I have currently rather than waste time speculating.Īnyways, after the initial shock of Logic coming to iPad wore off, I'm questioning if an all-in-one environment is the right move for me. That would rather suck if this is the case, but we have a little under two weeks to go before we can try the one month free trial and find out for ourselves. I actually vouched for Logic to come on the iPad, yet I’ve got rid of my M1 iPad and I’m definitely satisfied with the iPad said:ĭo you have a source for this info? I haven't seen anything online confirming or denying this info as facts.įrom what I can see it is basically a pro version of Garageband and still missing a lot from Logic. It’ll be for Logic users looking for a way to edit ideas on the go, demo ideas in a studio session without needing to disconnect their studio setup, for GarageBand users who are looking for the next step, and for people who do not want to pay the full price of admission for Logic Pro for Mac.Īgain, there’s a reason Logic for iPad is offered as a subscription, rather than a one-time purchase. Honestly, Logic for iPad is essentially an upgraded version of GarageBand for iPad, and a lighter version of Logic. Many instruments are missing from Logic for iPad, and users may need to pay extra to access them. In addition, there is the possibility that users may need to pay for extra instruments. While this will encourage some developers to create iPad-compatible versions of their plugins, it also means that users will need to purchase new versions of plugins that they already own. AUv3 Plug-in automation, in particular, will be lacking.Īnother limitation of Logic for iPad is that it only supports AUv3 plugins. Now, don’t get me wrong…it’s definitely a solid improvement over GarageBand, it will still have its limitations. Logic for iPad will not support full automation. It’s not the full-featured DAW that many people were hoping for. Rather, it's an ARM version of the software that has been redesigned for touch. Logic for iPad is not the full version of Logic. As is tradition here, here’s my controversial post of the year (we’re on year 3…) "Change directory" is a good way to recognize the cd command. If you like stuff like Coraline or ParaNorman, you’ll find GYLT is familiar visually as it is in its gameplay, but in this instance it feels more commendable. Tequila Works shows off in Gylt’s setting, with a neon-lit arcade and an eerie gymnasium standing out as two especially memorable areas that look fantastic and pack just the right amount of creepiness to complement the tone. Textures blur the line between photo-realism and cartoon while colors pop when they’re meant to, though it’s also a frequently dark game. Gylt’s best feature after its tone is its visual style, whose funhouse mirror proportionality is instantly reminiscent of most computer-generated movies from the past 25 years. Likening the game even more to an introductory-level horror, the roundabout traversal feels plucked right out of the genre greats – find a key to open a door which grants you an item to backtrack to a previous door inside of which you’ll find a chest with another item which allows you to move on to a combat area after which you find a bird-shaped crest that you can plug into a door you saw an hour ago. Sally spends most of her time crouched behind crates waiting for a nearby monster to look the other way for precisely the six seconds she needs to advance to the next shadow. At worst, it’s totally void of new ideas when it comes to how players actually interact with it. From its puzzles made alternatingly of wires and valves that need spinning to enemies whose patrols encompass only the same 20 feet of space on a loop, Gylt is at best a charmingly typical experience, like the kind of stealth-action puzzle-platformer mash-up movie tie-in we hardly see anymore. Gylt’s tone and world go a long way to make up for the game’s totally familiar gameplay experience. Its T rating by the ESRB comes mostly by way of some foul language scribbled on the walls of the town, but the horrors themselves feel more like Pixar After Dark than true survival-horror fare, and that’s totally fine, because it’s clearly the vision Tequila Works had for Gylt and it delivers on it with precision. Gylt is thematically dark, but never pushes the envelope too far. The central mystery is a fun one and captures the Laika-like spirit of the project perfectly. For six or seven gameplay hours, Sally will be one step behind her troubled cousin, desperate for answers. Her younger cousin Emily has been missing for a month, and the search for her drives Sally to dig deeper into the history of the town as well as her relationship with Emily. As the middle school-aged Sally, players find themselves in her home of Bethelwood, a once quaint mining town now playing host to brutish monsters of various shapes and sizes. Gylt is a horror game, but that’s not to say it’s likely to be a scary game. Finally, clocking in at about four hours or so, Gylt is a relatively short experience, but the game's central theme of facing your fears and coping with issues can open up some real thought and dialogue long after the final collectible is found and the credits have rolled.Platform(s): Google Stadia Baby’s first Silent Hill Plus, the game does mix things up a bit, often tossing in an unexpected jump scare or other element to keep up a player's focus on the tension of what might be lurking around the corner. Also, some of the puzzle aspects can feel a little repetitive at times, though the overall experience doesn't suffer much from it. The game has an auto-aim that doesn't always seem to hit its target just right. The controls are generally easy to pick up and play, although getting into combat can sometimes feel clunky. It's got scares that can make even the most hardcore horror fan jump, but it's never scary enough to keep anyone up at night either. The overall flavor of the game is something similar to what would happen if Disney hired Tim Burton to create a Silent Hill game. Gylt, on the other hand, has managed to carve a nice niche for itself in a sort of middle ground. Video games can sometimes tend to fall into one extreme or another, such as being either colorful and happy games for young kids, or gruesome survival horror games for more mature gamers. A rule of thumb is that the right tap drill is around 85% for coarse threads and 90% for fine threads which feature a higher number of threads per axial distance. That would be a 3.7 mm drill bit, but using that drill would leave an inadequate margin for the creation of the appropriate thread depth. If that is the case, can we simply use the next smallest available drill size. The material will have to be cut and pushed out in order to create a thread in that hole. So, if we wanted to drill a hole for our example bolt, we would need to use a drill that is smaller than 4 mm. Finally, 20 is the length of the bolt in mm, measured from the tip of the thread to the bottom of the head (with the exception of oval headed bolts). The second number (0.7) is the pitch which corresponds to the distance between two adjacent threads in millimeters. The “M” indicates the “metric diameter” of its thread (see tap drill chart below), which in our case is 4 mm. Bolts are classified by specification codes such as:. Having determined the bolt that we want to use in the specific case, we already have a technical specification for the thread which will host it. Thread Geometry And Drilling The HoleĪs is evident from the above, to create the thread we first need to drill a hole on the workpiece. If the taper needs to go first, the intermediate tap follows second and the thread is finished with the bottoming tap. This minimises the risk of damaging the drilled hole. The taper tap features a smooth diameter transition that allows for a less aggressive cutting action. The taper tap is only used in certain situations such as when the material is very hard or the hole is too small. However, the bottoming tap cannot start the threading on an uncut hole, so it can only take part in the cutting process as the second or third tap. So next comes the bottoming tap that has the capacity to do this. Unfortunately, due to the shape it can’t create a thread all the way to the end of the hole. That is why it features a tapered bit, allowing the machinist to align it correctly. The intermediate, or plug tap, is used first to start cutting out material from a non-threaded hole. To create a thread properly, one would need a set of three taps that correspond to the same bit size namely the bottoming, the intermediate, and the taper tap. Therefore the tap drill chart is extremely important. As you would expect, taps come in all forms and sizes in order to accommodate standardised screw threads. Its alot of fun and always recommend it to ADHD people that "fidget" alot. I was missing that "full driver experience" of driving stick-shift from back when I was 20 years old and driving a stick-shift Isuzu pickup truck. Besides, with salespeople being so close to buyers, why wouldn’t you involve them?Īt Boston-based Zaius, which has raised over $50 million for its B2C marketing platform, CEO Mark Gally invited one of his sales leaders, Michael Angoff, to be part of the group that would build the new deck. If your marketing team, or even your CEO, builds the new pitch without your sales team’s close cooperation, don’t be surprised when your salespeople shun it like a body rejecting foreign tissue. Nurture advocates for the new deck inside your sales team- before rolling it out Then we went back and showed those slides, and it was like magic-the IT buyers let down their guard and began sharing all kinds of valuable information. Once, with a group of IT buyers, we decided not to show these “change” slides, thinking they would be irrelevant for a technical person, but the buyers were practically silent. As he told me:īuyers open up and share what’s really going on, so much more than when we used to just ask direct questions about their challenges. When unveiling the new deck, SpotMe CEO Pierre Metrailler trained his sales team not just to present these slides, but to stop and ask, “How is this shift playing out for you and your team?” According to Pierre, the information his team gets from these exchanges is gold. For example, Switzerland-based SpotMe, which delivers custom apps for events and training, begins pitches by sharing a change that we heard about from SpotMe’s customers-namely that they now see events not as self-contained shindigs, but as episodes in some greater journey: One of my biggest “aha” moments was when several sales teams I worked with began using their “ change in the world” slides to get prospects talking and opening up. In other words, they inhibit what salespeople call discovery. Make sure your new deck facilitates discoveryĬhristoph's VP’s complaint echoes the most common pushback I hear from salespeople about flashy new sales decks in general-they encourage salespeople to blabber on instead of listening to prospects. (These 5 points are particularly relevant to the Greatest Sales Deck framework, but should apply to any deck you’re “selling” to sales.) #1. So I’ll share an expanded version of my response to him here: With so many B2B teams gearing up for next year’s sales kickoff events, I’m guessing Christoph isn’t the only one worried about his sales team embracing a new version of the pitch. Says he already has a deck, and that buyers don’t have time for a story, they just want to know how we solve their problem.” Christoph was digging his heels into the pavement, one after the other, as a metaphor for his VP’s resistance. I’ve used it with a few prospects, and they engage at a deeper level, they get what we’re about faster, and they’re all moving to next steps.” “Listen,” he said, “I restructured our sales pitch using your Greatest Sales Deck framework and the results have been awesome. He was waiting for a table, but didn’t wait to tell me what was going on. It was fun having my parents think I was some kind of messaging celebrity, but I recognized Christoph as the CEO of an early-stage tech company who had recently attended one of my workshops. (Later, my mom asked, “People stalk you for messaging advice?”) “Do you have time for a quick question about messaging?” Bellies full of beignets, my parents and I were exiting San Francisco’s Just for You Cafe when when a middle-aged man called my name. Malwarebytes allows running scheduled scans, but the feature is only available in Premium edition. How long do you think it will take until it encrypts the entire disk? If you didn’t run scans while the malware was running quietly on the background, you might end up with a totally dead computer. Imagine, you somehow got Keranger, MacRansom, or another ransomware app. It means that when you browse a compromised web site, the free software will let you download malware, install it, and run. So, every time you open a mail attachment or browse a site, the Premium version of Malwarebytes verifies that they are free from malware. If the free version scans and detects viruses after they get on your Mac, the Premium version stops the malware before the Mac gets injected. In addition, the Premium version comes with real-time verification. Scanning for threats and removing malware is the same in both versions. Yes, Malwarebytes is a well-regarded anti-malware solution that effectively protects Macs from various threats. The best thing is it still has a free version. In 2015 Malwarebytes, a software company from California acquired AdwareMedic and rebranded it as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac. The product was a donationware developed by Thomas Reed. The story of Malwarebytes for Mac started when it was called AdwareMedic. There is also a Windows version, but I have no opinion about it. In this article, I would only cover Malwarebytes for Mac. While I have never found any malware on those occasions, I do know how Malwarebytes works and can help you decide whether you need it or not and whether it is worth paying for. One thing I learned is that when their tech support suspects a possibility of a virus on your Mac, they usually suggest downloading and running free Malwarebytes.
